Nutrition

Welcome to the nutrition section of our site!

Nutrition is the cornerstone of the Fuel and Burn doctrine.

Fuelling the body and mind with a nutrient rich diet will give the most leverage when it comes to improving body composition, athletic performance and the most overlloked component of training....Recovery!

Nutrition plays a huge role in our lives and in the performance of our bodily functions. Ensuring you are providing the right building blocks at a cellular level is the most important part of any training program. Nutrition and healthy eating are paramount to maintaining a healthy body.

Like a finely tuned racecar, your body needs the right fuel and maintenance. Put in the wrong fuel and there's no way it can deliver its full power and performance. Good nutrition is the right combination of some of our most important basic necessities, food and water. Foods are made up of six basic classes of nutrient including: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, water and minerals. Each of these nutrients has its own special role in the body to maintain, grow and rebuild. A balanced diet is extremely important, while poor dietary practices are usually responsible for a host of problems and diseases.

Optimal nutrition can provide the competitive advantage and is the easiest way to improve athletic performance. Maintaining a balanced diet can delay fatigue and increase recovery time. Healthy eating can prevent injuries and chronic disease as well as enhance overall performance, endurance and speed.

We don't just tell you want to eat.. we show you how!

Our Nutrition and Weight Loss Camps we serve a predominantly Plant Based, High Alkaline diet. It's high in vegetables, fruit, beans, pulses, nuts and seeds, providing all the micronutrients you need. The menu is designed around your natural biochemistry and provides you with the right mix of carbohydrates, protein, fats and nutrients.

The menu is suitable for everyone and adaptable for those who follow a specific diet or have allergies.

Our food is tasty but not spicy/hot. We don't spice the food too highly because we are catering for such a large number of guests, everyone will have different tolerances to spice. We do; however, provide chilli and black pepper for those who prefer a bit more of a kick from their food.

We provide you with an analysis of the nutrient values of our food. These are given as a guideline and also to help when you go home so that you have an idea of portion sizes and calorie contents. However calorie counting is not our primary focus, our guideline is actually nutrition. Your food should be high in nutrition and this will naturally make the food low in calories. The body does not recog-nise calories – a calorie is a unit of energy – your body does recognise nutrition – so if you eat food that is high in nutrition the body gets all that it needs and can start to use the energy to heal itself.

whilst attending you will learn how to prepare the same food when you get home. We also send you recipes by email so that when you get home you can continue the programme if you choose.

Juicing

We are great beleivers in the benefits of juicing. Juicing is the quickest way to flood the body with nutrition. Juicing helps the body to cleanse. Within 20 minutes of drinking a juice the nutrients have entered the blood stream and are feeding the body. Digestion of normal solid food takes up to 70% of the body's energy so by juicing we are able to bypass digestion which then allows energy to be diverted to the organs allowing them to heal.

We make our juices using predominantly apple as the base. The main reason for this is because of their ability to help to break down fats in the liver, it also helps to make the juices drinkable. We have found that without the sweetness of apples some of the juices would taste very "green" and most people would struggle to drink them.

Hummus is a delight. I think we can all agree with that! So, what could be better than beetrot hummus?
